The Playhouse
The Playhouse was born in the summer of 2015. Founders: Nancie Tobison and Ellen Werksman in collaboration with the
Barrington High School Performing Arts Alumni Endowment (founded by Marc Parker).
The theatre is still under development while being active in presenting performances.

Stage size: 37x17. Spring sprung wood floor / good acoustics. House seats 50-60. Stage lighting - Technical Director available. Sound system: available.

The goal of the Parker Playhouse is to provide Barrington and neighboring communities with an event/theater space that can showcase performers of all ages and allow for artistic development and project -based presentations. The theater offers a Season of self-produced performances as well as offering independant rentals and special events.
Parker Playhouse is rapidly gaining the reputation of becoming a home for many of our talented Barrington area alums as well as attracting talent as far reaching as Chicago. The venue has presented performances ranging from Opera, to musical theater, and comedic Improv during the past year.

Nancie Tobison is a Grammy Nominated Director and veteran of the performing arts having ​directed the higjly accalimed Barrington High School Choir for over 25 years.
Ellen Werksman is a master teacher and choroegrapher with a diverse background in dance and perfroming arts. She has trained on Scholarships with New York's Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street, Chicago Repetory Dance and Chicago Dance Medium. She is the recipient of the prestigious "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" chosen for her creative and unique choregraphy and teaching formats.

PPH presents musical theater performances, opera, comedy improv., talent competition (Barrington's Got Talent).
The space is the home of Barrington Community Theatre a musical theater company dedicated to keeping the spirit of musical theater alive through traditional and historical themes as well as exploring new and exciting works that represent the latest trends in musical theater.
